Ok. As the title implies, I am interested in finding some kind of solution for the KJ's bad shifting habits. I have the 42RLE and it's just getting to a point where I'm constantly on the gas and getting cut off by grandma's  . I know there are at least a few solutions out there. Shift-point reset comes to mind, as does performance chips and PCM flashes. I would rather avoid the flash if I can, and I don't care to spend a large sum just to get it to shift like a normal trans. Any experiences with the chips, or just getting that reset done would be great. Or if you've done other things to help with this, then do share.

no amount of dooda's are going to correct something that most likely is a result of a misconfiguration ie: tire size change or a unserviced or failing part either mechanical, hydraulic or electrical

need to get it shifting properly before investing money in something that will either temp. cover up the issue, make it worse or do nothing at all

a reset sounds like a good place to start along with a transmission service if you haven't had the filter / fluid changed in awhile

Yea I figured the reset was a good place to pick up. It's no so much a noticeable mechanical thing as it is I simply can't get over the OD behavior. Even when I turn it off it seems to shift into a seemingly half-way point into OD which is still making me floor it. I've had it a couple times shift into what seemed to be 2nd-3rd and the rpms spiked to darn near 5k.

My jeep does this too, its almost like it never wants to leave overdrive for me, and its a turd on the highway unless OD is off. Let us know if you find anything that helps!! Oh and as far as the Jetchip goes my Stage 1 really did nothing for it.
