I think I have tracked my leak down to the roof rack rail, but cant figure out how to remove it. Anyone know

There are plastic caps on each end of the rail. pry on them a bit and you'll see how they come off.

Once they are off you'll see the four nuts that hold each rail on.

The roof rail bolts to studs that are spot welded to the roof. The only way you could have a leak there is if one of the studs pulled off and a rivstud was installed in it's place.

If that's the case, there is a possibility that the rivstud wasn't sealed sufficiently. A bead of silicon around the rivstud should stop the leak.

My understanding is there is a seal there, there are not many other places this thing could be leaking above the rear window side line which is where it has definately been traced to.......Sunroof line is clear, I just reseated the 3rd tailight.

Not the lift gate

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I seem to remember that there is more of a rubber pad between the rail and the roof then a seal. But, like I said, the studs are spot welded to the roof. It's solid up there unless there was a repair made.

Either way, it's a simple matter to pull the rail and check.
