Post subject:  How do i know???

Hello my fellow jeepers!!!! I need some help. I have never had a vehicle with struts so does anyone know what noises or how does the libby feel when driving if the struts gave out. I have a feeling they went out because it make a noise every speed bump or pot hole i go through. sound like when you have bigger tires and they rub on the plastic. the libby has about 57,000 miles. any suggestions or help will be appriciated. thankjs in advanced. :D

Spray silicone spray on the sway bar bushings
should take care of it, do it every oil change
shocks will go bad in front and rear and should be replaced

First, lets get you all straightened out here. :D KJ has 4 Shocks. No Struts. Front is a Coilover assembly and is frequently mistaken for a strut assembly, but it is really shocks up front. :JEEPIN:

Tom has already probably already fixed the noise you have been hearing. But if not, check the 4 top bolts that hold the front shock assembly to the unibody. If those bolts are loose, they might clunk. But since it has never been apart, it is highly unlikely that they are loose.

Also, the stock shocks are shot by about 30-40k miles. Whether they look blown or not, your ride will be improved no matter what if you replace them.

thanks brother for the info. this is the 1st vehicle i own that is not 4x4. i have a 77 early bronco, 2 78 broncos, 77 f150, a 06 rubicon and a 98 tj se. when the wife wanted the liberty i told her to get it 4x4 but she didn't want to because she was traveling 100 miles a day to work and back so she wanted to save on gas. i ahve too many projects but i'm in canada for work so i could only bring two vehicles. so everything is stored up back in texas... :( :( :( :(

i sprayed it with silicone but noise is there so i think the front shocks are done. i think it needs an alignment because the front tires have a slight imperfection.
