LIFT on a budget.....

i have a 2006 jeep liberty renegade 4x2 because it was my wife's. she just got a new vehicle so the libby is mine now so i want to make it look aggresive. i want to do a llift any suggestions i don't want to do a donut lift because i have a feeling my front end needs an up grade. i've have seen alot of lifts on the web but i can't decide or know which one would be better. it's a 4x2 so i can't do much wheeling. so mainly its going to be a mall crawler/little mud puddles and snow.

Everything posted over in the 4x4 section applies to you as well
If you want a good ride ( going to the mall :wink:

) and great handling then go full spring lift
OME 927s/948s with Bilstein F4-BE5-D916-HO front and F4-BE5-6458-H& rear shocks you can go from say a 2.5 inch lift up to 3.5 or so inches real easy
check with longtalltexan as well he has a 4X2 and lifted

well - the caveat to the 4x4 lifts - is that you can go higher
4x4's are limited by CV joints.

agreed long tall texan's - 4x2 is looking good.

Thanks for the info!!! where can i buy the items that you listed? also does anyone have pictures on how to put a lift on a 4x2(step by step) or is it the same as a 4x4. i know in a 4x4 lift install you have to dismantle a few parts. now in the 4x2 due to not having cvs can you just lower the strut assembly?

You can get the Daystar top plates from JBA at http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-Daystar_Stru ... H-583.aspx You would need a left one and a right one.

For the Rear, I have KYB Shocks for a 2000 Durango, Rusty's 2.5" lift springs, 1.25" Plastic spacer.
I do not recommend the Crusty rear springs. Go with OME 948's. Also, I got the KYB Shocks for a good deal, but am planning to replace them soon with these: viewtopic.php?f=113&t=57414

Depends on how handy you are with a wrench. It is really not that difficult, even if you have never worked on your Jeep before. Plenty of info on here on how to put lifts on.

Same steps for 4x2 as a 4x4. You have to pull the battery box on driver side to get to the top bolts on the shock assembly, and the airbox on the passenger side. Disconnect UCA, Clevis, and assembly comes out as a unit. Then rebuild and re-install.

thanks brothers for the info and help. right know i live in Canada due to work but my home is south texas. where can i get the lift at a good price. i'm doing the install myself to save cash. i also have a 06 tj rubicon with a 6" lift with 35's super swamper bogger. that is the one i used to do my wheeling right know it is at my parents sitting in the garage

. so while i'm in Canada i'm going to work on getting the renegade to look manly lol!!!!! so then you guys think i should do the 2.5 ome? and what shocks do you recomend rancho, skyjacker or etc etc......

www.JeepinByAl.com They have the OME springs. Get a set of Bilsteins all around and you will be good to go.

When you have it lifted, post pictures so we all can see. Sometimes I wish I had a 4x2, because you can lift them a bit more. Listen to these guys, they know what they're talking about.

You can't really go that much higher with a two wheel drive, granted you don't have the CV issues but you still have spring to UCA contact

Can you fit a locker into a 4x2 or not? Seems like I saw someone on here talking about putting one in.
