I've decided on my lift and it will include the following: JBA 4.5's, OME927/948, Bilsteins all around, 3/8 plates from Boiler, 3 ring clevis and I would like to get rear spacers from LTT but I'm not sure how thick they should be to level it out. I'm also ordering tires and would like to run 265/75/16's but I'm not sure if they will rub anywhere other than the pinch weld. If there is anything I should do differently please let me know.

You'll get more answers over in the 4x4 section
but good spring choice and shocks
with the 3/8 inch top plate ( whose ever you use)
and the 3/8 inch clevis you're going to be pretty much at the top to begin with
for the rear use two top iso's if you want some rake
with 265-75-16s you're going to have some rub on
on the pinch weld and the bumper
plus you'll have to figure in new 4.10s as well unless you want power/mileage loose if you want to run them
245-75-16s would be way better IMO

Sounds like you have the max lift setup planned perfectly. I would say 1" spacers in the back. I am using 1.25, but my Rusty's springs are pretty muck shot. 1" would be right for new OME 948's.

LTT could you PM a price for the 1" rear spacers.

Will this much lift cause the width of the front stance to be narrowed?

By running 245/75/16's all I'm giving up is a little bit of width but not height, right? They will be mounted on stock '04 Sport wheels.

I've done so much research my head is swimming. I'll be ordering everything this week including tires and I want to get it right the first time.

Thanks guys.

Spacers are $45 shipped. 245/75-16 is the typical size used with that lift setup. 265/70-16 is a little wider and the same diameter (31"). I am not as familiar with the required fender trimming on the Gen 1 KJ. Maybe Tom will chime back in. You may need to trim a little front fender area right behind the fog lights.

Thanks LTT, I'll contact you later this week to order the spacers. I really want to run 265/75's but if it's going to require a ton of trimming I'll look at the 265/70's.

265-70s on stock wheels will rub on the sway bar
265-75s more rub on the fog light doors and pinch weld
much less problems going 245-75s on stock wheels and the lift you want
you did not mention bumpstops but need thsoe as well
Teraflex front
hockey pucks rear 2 per side

Anything else just ask
If you read through the lift section it will give you about the same information
Just remember the bigger the tire the more cutting etc you'll have to do plus a pretty good power and mileage loss without regearing
Thats why most run the 245-75-16s works good with the above lift and power loss in minimal

At that height are the JBAs absolutely required?

(Asking as I'm about to do this exact lift too with a bit less clevis and ARB bumper immediately...)

Guess once everything is up on stands it's worth doing what needs done but didn't budget the JBAs right now. (Not if we're to skip wheels and tires hehe)

:juggle:

Ran mine lifted with the stock arms for 70,000 miles plus, only swapped them out when I got a killer deal on some 4.5s ( new)
I then installed my old ones on two other KJs that were worn out ( with less miles than mine)
So if you have the cash then its a nice upgrade and will make it easier to get aligned better
but you can run for a while without swapping. Also its easy to change them out anyways, not like its a 4 hours job or anything

Buggy I was wondering the same thing but I figured with 86k on the stockers I might as well change them now. I'm also going to replace the LBJs with MOOGs

Good food for thought Eric - couldn't find Moog greasables anyplace near me (canada, eh?) - might order some next time I need other parts from US.

Have you got your bumpstops - didn't notice that mentioned in the thread above ?

I'm going with the Teraflex up front and hockey pucks in the rear.

One more question tommudd/LTT. Once I get it lifted, how much of a wheel spacer will I need to get the front trac width back to normal? I see that spidertrax has a 1.25" spacer and JBA has a 7/32" spacer. I'm ordering everything today and would like to get it right.

I guess if you want to get technical, the front track width does decrease when you lift the KJ, but I don't think that I have heard of anyone adding any wheel spacers to the front. It is not enough to really cause any harm, so don't worry about it.
