So I tested temps under the hood. Conditions: 86F Test 1 - Sitting in driveway in sun no fan on full engine temp 3FT from jeep outside temp - 86F Intake area blocked off - 135F Engine bay area 6in from intake area - 152F Test 2 - Driving 25MPH with test lead in blocked off intake area Intake area blocked off - 87-91F Seems the barrier that comes with my K and N FIPK works. With zero airflow the difference is 17 degrees and while driving only 25MPH the temp is at or slightly above the outside air. Effective? Yessir!

now put the stock airbox back in and do the same thing and drop an amsoil drop in filter and put a pressure / vac sensor in the cross tube just eggin ya, glad it's workin for ya! |
