So I am looking for a new exhaust for my 03 KJ.
I had a rusty offroad with flowmaster muffler and it was great un til it rusted out. Now I just have the muffler and nothing after.
I have been looking at some cat back systems but havent heard anything about them.
Please tell me your thoughts.
JBA Catback system - $278

HeartThrob cat back - $225
http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts-mu ... ?kc=ffprod

MBRP exhaust system - $357
http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts-mu ... 4AodmhOeUg

These are my top 3 because they are below or around the $300 price range.
I am trying to find out, what sounds best and still provided power.

My current setup I can feel that it needs a bit of backpressure to get full power. Right now it feels as though it is almost too free flowing.

help me out please.

Are the pipes from the cat to the muffler good? If so you could just have someone bend some pipe for you from the muffler out. I had that done with muffler install for only $310

They took 2.5 pipe and bent it to the point aht it was almost kinked.

Just cut out the muffler and out a magnaflow in and throw on some exhaust clamps. No real need to go from the cat back and it saves you quite a bit of money

Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on the 3 cat back systems I mentioned/listed?

I posted the vid of my cherry bomb catback exhaust system which was under $300 also. Just something to consider also.

JeepJunky33,

I don't know about the JBA or HeartThrob catback, but I had a MBRP catback in a previous vehicle and it was a great setup. The quality is great and so in the sound. As far as performance go, I never dyno it so I don't know how the performance was affected, but it did had a great sound and throttle response.

I just bought the Dynomax catback from Summitracing ($252 plus $75 mail in rebate):

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-19392/

I'll see how this one installs, fits, etc, and post about it.

Anton

I've had the Dynomax system from summit on my '02 since last September. Fit and finish are excellent as is the sound- not too loud and it installed easily. The only down side is it drones at 1500 rpm.
