Please disregard if you seen this elsewhere. Posted on a few different forums.

For any who are interested in hypertech tuner support for 2002/2003 Liberty models.

I have been advised by Hypertech customer support that if there is enough product requests for the 2002/03 model years, they will consider supporting them. The guy I emailed said that they are getting a lot of request for these years. For those of you who don't know what this product does, it advertises 24hp/24tq increase for regular gas along with 25hp/25tq for premium along with the ability to adjust speed limiter etc.

The WK guys seem to love the performance increase with this product when paired with the 3.7, so I assume we would get a substantial boost in performance as well.

Anyone that is interested please fill out the product request form on hypertechs website. Which is http://209.12.144.7/requests.php

I've got the Hypertech on my 2008. Worth every penny.

Just curious, what kind of increases did you see? Throttle response, extra pep, gas mileage?

Keep in mind I also have a cat back exhaust and cold air intake. As soon as you finish installing and go for your first test drive, it's obvious there is something different and great brewing.

The best way I can describe the tuning is that the truck, lack of a better term, feels lighter. Shifts are much smoother and rpms climb faster and don't bog as much compared to stock.

My Jeep wasn't stock too long, so I don't have too many stock mpg fill ups. I was getting 16 mpg, after installed I have never gotten 16 mpg again, only MORE. City driving is anywhere between 18-21 and highway is 22-24.

I've had it installed for a little over a year now. I think I should be able to increase my mpg another mile this summer since I've had time to really get to know the Jeep (still getting used to the electronic throttle body).

Customer service has been pretty good. Only thing I can complain about are the internet updates. You never know when they're released, and you have to call or email them to see what the update was for if you want to know.

Cool, thanks for the info. Hopefully they will release support for my year so I can input my 2 cents also.

We'll see. They don't even have one for the newer KK's since there is a very slight change somewhere in the PCM or whatever.

LFR, I just put in my request.

Here's one for you...I just swapped an '07 block into my '03. Of course changed the timing rings and used the '03 intake and exhaust manifolds but I'm wondering if there were some cam or valve adjustments to the '07 that would make a HyperTech tune counterproductive. In other words, if the HT tune is for the '03 but the '07 valve train is slightly different than the valve train of the '03 will it not give me the desired results?

I mentioned that in the comments section on the HyperTech request page - I'll report back if they say anything.

Bob

I doubt that would hurt results.

I believe the dyno chart for the 3.7 engine came from a 2010 Liberty, so it should still produce what they advertise. Thanks for the request!

I really wish they made these for all KJs. Only a few guys with them on the KK. If you look at the other vehicles, it's pretty impressive how much they were able to squeeze out of the 3.7.

I agree. Especially on most other engines they are only able to squeeze another 8-15hp out of them at peak rpms.

I've got my fingers crossed for you guys. It's like night and day, especially if you're in sync with your Liberty and know how it acts now. The Hypertech takes her off the leash.

I hear ya. Any vehicle that I've tuned is night and day different in driveability. I'm just hoping that I'll get the chance with the liberty.

Although I could always go with B&G flash. The only thing that bugs me about them (aside from sending the whole computer to get programmed) is that they have no dyno charts to prove their "about 20hp gain." Plus I like the ability of the hypertech to flash back to stock if needed.

I hear ya. It's convenient to check and clear DTC's, too. I think they'd sell more programmers to the KJ guys than to the KKs.

I'm suprised none of the 04-07 KJ guys have any reviews on this. Support for them has been out for a while now....

Emailed them again the other day. We still need more requests! 8)

Still hoping you get some luck thrown your way. Still think it's been my best purchase for the Jeep. Glad I did it right away, too.
