Here is a thread about this topic in the KK (2008+) section.
http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=79781

Not sure if it works to swap the old school 3.7/4.7 throttle bodies on 2002-2006 KJ's, but the swap does work for the electronic ones from '07 and up. Beginning in 2007 the 3.7 went to electronic throttle control rather than using a cable to control the airflow.

The 4.7 TB is a wider bore (something like 3 inches diameter vs. the 3.7's 2.5 inch diameter). These larger TB's can be found on V8 Dakotas, Durangos, Grand Cherokees, Commanders, Ram trucks, and V10 Vipers. Sometimes this swap is referred to as the Viper throttle body mod, and there is even a selection for that on the aftermarket Hypertech programmer.

If you were to find a 02-06 4.7 with a drive by wire they are interchangeable with the kj

what kind of gains do you see on the KK with that modification?

thanks for all the info so far.
so it seems the 4.7 throttle body has a larger OD. so the 3.7 intake box that is right ontop of the engine probably wont fit...
has anyone put the 4.7 box on with the 4.7 throttle body?
i know it would look goof to have that on a 3.7 but if it bolted up...

got one ordered from ebay for 17$, free shipping, will start by cleaning it, and then boring/polishing it out, and then try to fit it up.

the throttle linkage for my 02 was different, mine has a plastic molded connection point, this one is all metal. might work on your 06.

17$ + free shipping
same that i paid on ebay.
pretty cheap to take a chance on, got another one coming to me that should work on my 02
