When the EGT is measured after the turbo, the turbine outlet temperature at full throttle or under a heavy loads typically would be 200º - 300º F. lower than the EGT's measured pre turbo in the exhaust manifold. Most say you should use 450° or more rule as max difference or differential between the two locations.

Generally most engineers say any pre turbo any sustained EGT's temperatures above 1300° deg.s F for any periods is considered very bad for a diesel engine and piston damage can occur when you run EGT's above these limits.

So using a 400°-450° differential rule, a Post-turbo red line would be 800° - 850° deg.s F. with an absolute max of 900° deg.s F if you have your EGT probe located downstream from the turbo.
There are other things can also come into play that can influence subjective engine operating conditions which should be considered when monitoring EGT's and making decisions to back off the go pedal.
I hope this answers your question, I know it is a little muddy, but it is not a simple black and white answer.... :banghead:

Thanks, I have seen 700 a couple of times and that concerned me, but now iI will just use that that as red line and be safe
