I just bought this for my wife and must say I was impressed with how well these literally are trail rated. Never owned a Jeep anything before, so pretty excited. I know the cult following associate with Wrangler owners not quite sure how that transcends to Liberty's but none the less excited. That being said I do have some questions:

1) Do they make a grille for a 2004 that resembles a 2010? Love the Commander style front end. mmmmm
2) Towing capacity 5,000lbs really? What have you all towed safely and easily not worring about handling, steering, etc.
3) Trail rated. With a completely stock Liberty 4x4 with the V-6, how well have they performed for you all people who really use it!

Thanks everyone in advance look forward to speaking with you all in the future.

Welcome, jknox.

Yes, Liberties (KJ's) are trail-rated if they have 4wd, but one look at those tires will tell you you're not ready to go run Moab. I guess you could say we are a cult unto ourselves, since we have to stand in the shadow of the Wrangler's off-road reputation. However, a few ($$$ ) modifications to your KJ, and she can do the same things a Wrangler can do.
Here are a few attempts at answering your questions:

1.) None that I know of. Why would you want the blocky grill when you can have the curvaciousness of the KJ grill? rowr

2.) Yep. Some here have towed upwards of 7500 lbs, though I wouldn't advise it.

3.) I have a CRD (diesel), so I can't comment on the V-6, but the majority of owners on this forum have the V-6 and seem very happy with it. Check out Tommudd, I think his is an 04 Limited as well.

Don't get me wrong I like the KJ how it is absolutely! Just wanted to know if they made one, I do like that strong boxy commander look as well.

welcome to lost! the trail rated is really just a marketing thing on the 4x4 models, etc. i think you might have a skid plate if i am not mistaken

They will do pretty well off road stock height. With AT tires and skids I did do a couple of crazy trails in Utah and Colorado. But with a few modifications they do much better.

Welcome to the cult! :D

Assuming you don't have the original tires, they are capable offroad but do a lot better with the added ground clearance of a lift (wish I had one!).
