Hey everyone. New KJ owner checking in. I'm in So Cal on Camp Pendleton and I just bought this 2006 4x4 for my wife. I'm not new to Jeep, had a 95 ZJ on 33s for 7 years. Anyway, the KJ is a well optioned Sport in Khaki with 80k. I got the 231 tc too which is nice.

Paid 13k for it, and the dealer (Lithia of Grants Pass) paid off the 5300 my wife owed on her VW. So I think I got a pretty good deal. The first thing I did with it was take it off road, did pretty well. Not as nice as my ZJ did but that's expected. I was a little concerned about mpg but I was able to average 21 mpg at 70 to 80 on 2.5 tanks of gas on a 900 mile road trip. would have been higher but the wife only got 17.8 while she drove. too used to the 30 of her vw, lol.

I did have a few questions. There seems to be a very soft thumping sound that I can feel in the gas pedal at about 2 to 3 mph. I read something about a front DS? also, the motor is pretty loud when giving it heavy throttle, is this a normal 3.7 thing?
