Greetings one & all. Just bought a low mileage '04 Liberty back in October.
Feels good to have a 4X4 again!
The first thing I "had " to do, was get rid of the god awful street tires that were on it when I bought it,
& replace them with some "real" Jeep tires.

To do list for my new toy:

Replace the factory roof rack with a sturdier steel roof rack / light bar combo.
So far, Rocky Road has the top contender. Any suggestions here are welcome.

Then to the front bumper. Still researching this one. I know what I like, but it appears
the aftermarket is saturated with on road bling rather than "off road" capable.

Last but not least, the lift. Frankenlift, & Rockfather II are a toss up right now.
Again, any suggestions here are welcome.

Being in the Midwest, my 'wheelin' trips will be mostly two tracks & hunting trails,
plus dealing with mud & snow, so 2 -3 inches of lift are more than enough.

The trouble with being out of the 4X4 game for a few years is I'm used to having access to
all kinds of shops, etc. that do custom work for bumpers, armor, etc.
Now it seems that most of the shops (around here anyway) don't do that kind of work anymore.

Ahhh well...... at least I have the folks here to bounce ideas off, & to point me in the right direction.

Welcome to LOST
Where in the Midwest are you?
We have quite a few people on here form all over most of the Midwest.
As far as RooF Racks you have only two real choices Rock Lizard and Boilers
Lifts you can put together a great lift with OME 927s/948s and Bilstein shocks ( numbers are listed if interested ) /or OME shocks, or just the easy route with Frankenlift, lots more money but easy to install. Several posts on here about lifts.
Front bumpers....ARB what else can I say?

Rocky Road, racks/lifts, etc ......well lets just say there are so many more vendors who actually take the ime to communicate with customers etc
JeepinByAl, AllJs, just to name a couple who go out of their way as far as making parts and have them available. RRO, well

Hi Tom,

Any chance of actually stating what are Bilstein Shocks number required and if they will also be good for a CRD? I have seen so many post and most of the time I can't work out what is for what Gas or CRD any more

NewOldTimer welcome... again..?!

Thanks,

Fil.
