Hello,

New to this site but not to the Jeep Liberty. I have a 2003 that I bought new and now have 116,000 miles. I am hoping to keep it running for a long time.

The wife and I were talking about looking at getting something to do some 4 wheeling in. We have a daughter and another on the way soon, so we thought that this could be a good family activity. I started thinking why not use the Liberty. Up to this point it has not been on any trails but since it is no longer the primary vehicle, I thought it might be able to start getting off road a little more. What kind of luck have people had with them? Do they preform as well on the trails or should I look for something different?

Look forward to learning from everyone.

Thanks
Jeff

It is currently stock 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport with 3.7L. The most that I have done is put on new General Grabber A/T tires. Looking for suggestions on what to do with it. What are the mods that I should start looking into? Want to get a winch soon.
Thanks
Jeff

welcome!

Probably would want to get a OME (Old Man Emu) suspension set up, probably the 927 springs up front (heavy duty) to support the winch. The only way you will be getting a winch on it if you do want to is either an ARB, custom bumper or a detours backbone. And reason why I say getting the OME coils is because the winch will make your suspension sag quite a bit (and a bumper if you get the ARB for a winch)

if you are looking to lift, you can check out the frankenlift by boulderbars.com
