Hey everyone! I'm a new owner of a jeep crd. Never had a jeep brand before, but a diesel suv seems the way to go for me. I'm a diesel technician by trade, working on military trucks, but also worked on gas cars in the past with college education. Wondering how many wi/mn folks are on here. Only test I think about is the famous upper Midwest winters. Hope the glow plug system works good at -30f!

Hi and welcome . If and when you need any help I am sure you can find it here. For starters, you may well have problem starting if you don't use engine heater at those temps. There are problems with the original ceramic glow plugs sometimes chipping off into engine causing damage . There are 7 volt metal replacements for about $100 for all four but apparently may not heat quite as well. Seems that most in cold climates cycle key on at least couple of times with temps below10 f . Now you have a topic u can search to inform yourself and make an informed decision .

I'm a Wisconsin resident also in the Rhinelander area. We've had my wife's CRD for a little over 3 years now and have had no troubles with the glow plugs yet. If the engine heater is not plugged in I do need to cycle the ignition a time or two before it starts in below zero temps.
