Hello all, I am in the market for a CRD so I figured I would join now and get a few tips before hand...I was, until recently, an XJ owner so I am not a complete noob when it comes to jeeps

I am in a pickle at the moment trying to decide between a 2006 Limited with 130,000 miles and a 2006 Sport with 36,000 miles (this one is a certified pre-owned so it comes with a warranty)...with a difference of about $5000 between the two...any thoughts? Should this be in another section?

cheers

What Terry said.
Plus, with a sport you can bump shopping carts out of the a without worrying about scratching the paint. :D

And by the way, Welcome!!

Where abouts in Fl are you?

Welcome to the forum! :JEEPIN:

I hope you have your CRD soon. I would go for the Sport with the low miles. The mileage difference is huge and the Sport also has a warranty. I think it is worth the $5K. Just my :2cents:

yeah, I was leaning toward the sport...I've read many posts about things going bad on the crd...a warranty would keep my blood pressure down...

I'm just south in OP and Terry is in St. Augustine.
Make sure you get a 4x4 CRD. I have yet to get the chance to wheel with a CRD. :D :JEEPIN:

No trails in Jacksonville really. Theres some sand dunes by the regency mall and there are some trails in midldleburg I have heard about though. I often go to the Ocala national forest with Terry and our jeep club.
Check it out. Matanzasjeepclub.com
We always have rides going on and such. Its fun stuff.

Welcome to lost. I joined before I got my CRD like you and asked alot of things even before going to a dealer lot to look.

I would get the sport with lower miles if it had those to choose from and could handle the price. The sport does have cloth seats that stain and show dirt more than a limited's cloth or leather. Just Invest in nice seat covers. I have leather in my limited and I love it but when you go wheeling you do slide on it some.

And Yes all CRDs are 4x4 with 5 speed automatic and select trac transfer case system.

update:
I despise dealers...but since the crd's truly are a 'limited' edition...I don't have many options...anyone care to peek at the auction below and tell me what is missing in the picture marked 'caption 26'

I thought the switches were on the back of the center console?
Thats where they are on mine.

Theres a lot of holes in that dash as well. But that just makes it easier to mount a cb and the mic. Thats the way I see it. And the holes are already there for some bumper mounted driving lights.

And if you ever want to do some wheeling let me know! If I'm off work I'd be happy to go do some whenever you get your KJ.

It isn't a window switch. thats the back door and the switches are on the center console in the front between the seats and on the back of the console for rear passangers to controll them. not sure what that is.....maybe what was left after someone removed an aftermarket stereo system...I'm thinking tweeters here. but who knows. there was likely a CB installed before from the holes in the dash.
