Well Hello all I just sold my XJ 1999 long arm and am looking to buy a KJ. I would be grateful to anyone who can give me info on KJ's. Such as whats the best year/any issues to look for when buying one. I am looking for a 03-05 and plan on lifting it right away so your thought on lifts would be great too. I read the lift post on here already and am looking at the Rocky Road Outfitters 3". Thanks all, |

Hello and welcome and KJs are awsome. First ? is what do you want there are alot of kjs and alot of different editions. But the big ? is are you going to be a gasser or a CRD ? That will effect almost ever decision after you buy your libby. Also lift wise i would look at the Frankenlift, Jeepinbyal, and OME also. They are all great lifts and it is all what you want to spend. |

There are a few people on here with the 4.5 inch lift some have even more but they usually have either the custom cut CVs or SFA. JBA will of course be your biggest help with all of this with CVs and even new front axle housings. But most people dont suggest over 3 inchs without having binding issues. |

I think I may just go with the 3" to avoid axle issues and cost. I was hopping to squeeze at least 33" tires under the liberty. |

Read through the lift thread, after that OME has the best springs period Rock Krawler is junk, end of discussion RRO uses OME springs at least but service is poor to none Best places to deal is JeepinbyAl. AllJs ( Boulderbars.com) They both support LOST in many ways and are great to deal with With the aluminum front diff and what you can lift safely 32s is it. As far as the numbers game I have seen people with what they call 3.5 inches sitting 2.5 inches below mine. Most when new were about 19 inches middle of wheel to bottom of flare so you can figure from there. Also 4.10s is as low as you can go gearing wise so that also limits what you want to run. 245-75s works great , keeps your power/mileage etc pretty good without regearing |

Good luck with them, at that price I would go with AllJs Frankenlift, its proven and has way better customer support. Too many have had problems with trying to get any type of customer service out of Rocky Road. Punch their name in any forum and see what you find. As far as Rock Krawlers, try running one for 100,000 + miles like I have with OME springs. |
