Hello all, new CRD owner here, 1st Jeep in the family actually. My dad knows a little about diesels as he owns an old mercedes S300 diesel. I am trying to learn more about the jeep crd as well as diesel cars in general.
We came across my car when I was looking for a better option than my 98 4runner for daily driving, road trips, chicago winters, and occasional motorcycle towing. So far I'm very satisfied over the last few months but since it's the Sport edition I'm starting to miss the extras of my last 2 fully loaded cars (cruise control, sunroof, leather, sigh). Like I said, I have much to learn about my car and diesel in general, I'll be spending alot of time in the CRD section I think.

I think you'll find that the CRD is considerably different than your dad's old Mercedes, since the CRD engine is computer controlled with a high-pressure fuel rail. It will be able to do everything you are wanting it to do and then some, and you can add cruise control if you need it.
