I've been checking out the "Liberty CRD...Love that Torque!!!" section for several years now to help me work thru issues with my CRD. It's been a great resource! I have 109, 777 on my 05 CRD Libby. I ran it stock for about the first 100,000 miles but since then have done several mods and PM jobs. I just finished replacing the water pump, thermostat, timing belt, idler pulleys, tensioner and serpentine belt. Some of the mods I have are the Samco hoses, FFF (fixed flex fan), EHM (elephant hose mod) with the Provent filter, and one that I call the GPFOR (Glow Plug Fake Out Resistor). I got tired of replacing the #2 glow plug and can't stand to have the CEL light on. So I cut off one of the bad glow plugs and screwed it into the hole then I soldered together a resistor bank and connected it to the lead for the #2 glow plug. No more problems since then. (Down here in Florida we don't have a problem starting with 3 good glow plugs even in the winter).

uummhh - my #2 glow plug died about a dozen times - before they figured out it was a cracked head - replaced under the extended warranty.
they figured it out by pressurizing the radiator while it sat overnight - it had antifreeze on the glow plug the next day.

So be careful - you may have fixed a symptom not the problem.
