hey everyone, my name is Bernie, I signed up on this site like 2 years ago when I got my 2005 libby, but never posted. I was living in Colorado at the time but moved to Oahu right after I purchased My 2005 Liberty Sport 4x4. is anyone else on this forum on Oahu? going to be doing some suspension work soon so if anyone is down to help (supervise me while drinking beer) let me know! Specs on my Jeep: -54k miles -stock 2005 Liberty 4x4 green ex/tan interior (with high performance floral seat covers as required by the Aloha State DOT) -16" Alloy wheels to replace the stock steel ones which promptly rusted in one year of being on island -235/70/16 Kuhmo mini van tires that somehow get through sand like a champ w/o 4wd engaged -lowered 2" front suspension courtesy of universal gravity and physics -trailer package that has never been used -undercarriage surface rust covering everything that isn't painted. immediate future plans: -replace stock coils/strut with factory spec replacements (probably the Monroe prebuilt combo on amazon because A) its $105 per assembly B) ships free and shipping on any other kit will cost more than the price of the kit (no joke $790 shipping for a OME coil kit) C) I don't need a coil compressor since its prebuilt -add in trim spacer while I install the strut/coil assembly -can I also do a clevis lift in addition to a trim spacer or is that the same thing? long term future plans: -240/75/16 AT's of some sort (I change my mind daily) and don't need them yet as I figure I have another 50,000 miles left to enjoy mini van tires -scrap entire suspension and get a loaded $10,000 JBA kit when I win the lotto -then scrap the JBA kit for a strait axle -then scrap everything and build a tube chassis crawler using the remaining windshield frame, hood and grill assembly of the liberty and call it a liberty crawler total investment into rig projection: $3.4 trillion total enjoyment of Jeep Liberty: Priceless If you've read all of the above, don't worry I'll repost my questions in the appropriate section. Bottom line, I just love this liberty for some reason. it's the 7th Jeep I've owned and so far my favorite. I had lifts on half the the others. I've had 3 lifted XJ's, 1 TJ, and 2 WJ's which were all great. But the KJ is like a mix of all of them in one. it has the TJ "feel" when you sit in it (short dashboard?) the smooth ride of the WJ and the SUV size of a cherokee. I love it. Looking forward to meeting any other KJ enthusiasts here on Oahu as well! Aloha. |
