With the username "Arkie" it shouldn't be too hard to guess where I'm from. A pro Second Amendment, fiscal conservative. I've owned Jeeps off and on since the 70's and my true love is still old M38 military Jeeps with sealed plug wires and 24V electrical.

Just this week bought my first Jeep in several years, a 2002 Liberty, I catching on that they're KJ code? This one's at 160,000 body's clean, couple minor dents, tranny shifts strong, transfer and related lights work properly. Only hickup is the 3.7 engine has a rattle like timing gear and engine oil light stays on. No blink, no flicker, just steady burn. Drove it 14 mi from point of purchase to my shop @ 55-60mph with no engine destruction. Got a buddy who's an excellent independent auto repair tech gonna diagnose it later this week.

I've been in the automotive industry since I was 14, now 60. Started in my Dad's full service service station, eventually bought it. Pulled the gas pumps in 1998 and been tire/alignment/quick lube/muffler shop and related ever since. Miss them gas pumps much the same as my only abcessed tooth! Expect to fab my own bumpers, sliders, etc. Though not as high-tech as some I've already seen while lurking here.

Best,

Bob
