Greetings. I had a 2001 gas Liberty back in 2004-07 or so and loved it, except for the fact that the mileage was only 1 mpg better than our Durango, which would haul 7, so I sold it. It was one of the early early rigs with the "tall" springs. Now current life situations had us looking for a 5 seat SUV that would haul a trailer, handle really lousy winter roads and gravel roads around a farm, and not be a neutered "mom mobile." After reading up on what the CRD was capable of I found a very nice one for sale in Portland and picked it up last week--traded my Hyundai Veracruz for it. It has 62000 miles and I've already serviced it, disconnected the MAF sensor, and have ordered a bunch of stuff for it. Wife loves it. Fuel economy appears to be fantastic. Upon servicing it today I realized that it had a block heater (the lead was still zip tied to the dipstick and hidden under the engine cover) and a little sticker that said "Caution 7v glow plugs handle with care" so someone has put some love into it. Filter housing has been upgraded. Unfortunately it has the F37 update so that's going to have to be taken care of (as well as trashing all the extra weight on the engine AKA emissions equipment).

Good to be back and the whole family is glad to be "Jeep people" again.
