Hello everyone, I am a long time reader of the lost jeeps forums and I must say I am very grateful for this valuable resource! Without these forums I really would be lost.. I probably would not have purchased my CRD if it wasnt for all this info encouraging me that despite all the bad rep our CRD's have, it is almost always due to not understanding or willing to understand what we have properly. I am trying to read up and educate myself as much as possible, this is my first diesel. I am in still in automotive school and I have lots more to learn about auto tech in general but I am not afraid to attempt whatever work needs to be done on the CRD myself- especially with it giving me even more of an excuse to expand my tool collection.. Anyway, I have been wanting to post here just to introduce myself, also I have been searching the forums to try and diagnose my intermittent no start issue, but as of right now I am in some trouble with my 4 way fuel connector- the Fuel Bridge.. I broke the fuel injector return line and then, with my new line in hand, I broke the tiny plastic fitting on top of the bridge when i tried to remove the old injector line.. now I am trying to replace the fuel bridge and removed all but 1 line, which is really hard to reach and runs behind the EGR, has a round plastic fitting that is just visible below/behind the oil dipstick.. I will post my question separately but I have tried searching all over and cant find any info on disconnecting this line- it seems I cant from the bridge and will need to from the fitting but I have no idea how is best to access it, and how to disconnect the fitting. Anyway, again I would like to thank everyone on this forum for all the help and excellent advice. I feel like any mechanic about to work on a CRD for the first time would really benefit from reading these forums, although I am sure they probably do a bit considering they dont see our jeeps much at all haha |

welcome to lost , we have only good guys (no bad guys ) we have also engineers and professionals even jeep technicians getting answers how to approach this crd engine . it is tricky to work on it . but the key is to work slow not to break any parts and ask questions . |

For sure, I knew it would require lots of patience and understanding but to me its worth it and I dont mind the challenge. This site really makes things so much easier |
