About 27 hours into Liberty CRD ownership. I had located this site and some others while doing my research on whether I wanted one.

I couldn't find a reasonably priced/well maintained vehicle nearby that met my requirements (Mainly NOT GREEN), so I ended up taking a 4.5 hour drive to Cleveland to pick up a 2006 Limited. The truck has a Carfax report that's 8 pages long, no accidents, timing belt/water pump replacement at a dealer at 90k; currently has 136k, and the cracked driver's seat is the only indication of the miles. Four previous owners, and it appears to have started life in the far west end on Maryland between WV and PA, then owner #4 bought it in 2013 at 82k miles and had all his service done at a dealer that reports to Carfax.

Pulled the MAP and had to force it out because of the amount of junk packed in to it. Cleaned that up, did the ORM, and took a drive to the FLAPS to get hose for the EHM. HUGE improvement in drivability already. I'll likely wait until spring and do the Weeks 1 & 2, and run it down to GDE for an EcoTune.

Welcome aboard!
EHM is not good for several reasons!
Read through this thread and educate yourself:> viewtopic.php?f=5&t=80491&hilit
Best option to keep the oil out of the intake system is to add a ProVent coalescing filter as many on here have done.

To keep the soot out of the intake until you can get the Week's elbow kit installed, you can add a simple block off plate between the feed tube and the EGR valve. Only takes a few minutes to install!
Dimensions and instructions for plate are here:> viewtopic.php?f=5&t=76576&hilit

Also, there are free do-it-yourself tunes available on this forum; you can read all about them at:> viewtopic.php?f=98&t=78418&hilit
