Hello again,
I understand that my Jeep is rated to tow 2,000 lbs. I have a 16-foot Jayco Flight travel trailer that says 2,305 lbs. for weight ... DRY.

Do I need to sell my trailer for a lighter one or can I beef up my bumper to handle it?

If you have a towing kit on your Jeep you should be rated for 5000 lbs.

Don't ask me why but some of the JKU , particularly from 2007 to 2011, here in Europe, at least in Italy got a tow rate of 3.5 ton , kinda over 7700 Lbs, mine is included, i know it's sketchy, i didn't try to tow with mine yet...

Hello everyone!

Thank you for your replies about my towing capacity. I will verify just what mine is rated for when I take it in to the Bend, Ore. Jeep dealer to fix a recall issue! My VIN# matches a recall that requires the tow hitch to be fixed so it doesn't puncture the gas tank in a collision. Who knew? That will take place next Wednesday.

If you want to check your CRD for recall issues, here's the link: https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?gclid=EAI ... gJZWvD_BwE

USA CRD towing capacity is 5,000lbs with appropriate hitch. European CRD I thought rated 7,000lbs but my understanding is this is because of european requirement for stabilizer or something similar at that rating though its the same jeep.
