Hello, brand new Jeep KJ owner here.
Having a 2003 model and it will replace my Frontera.
And that gives the first question;
I have new 31x10.50x15 tires on there and would love to have them on the Jeep.
Are there any steel rims for the KJ in 15 inch?

And as we are travelling a lot, I would like to put a second battery in the car. Where would you put it?

Ohw, and btw, Iam from the Netherlands. And today I bought the Jeep.

Greetings from Robert

It's been done on a KK. I don't know about a KJ.

If they do clear the tie rod ends and brake calipers, stay under 30x9.50x15 unless you have a substantial lift. (5+cm)

Search for "Soft 8's" on LOST or plug this into your browser search bar: soft 8s site:www.lostjeeps.com/forum/
You will get a lot of hits on 15 inch wheels and what can be used and tire sizes for 15's!

As to second battery, some have installed one in the rear cargo area in a box with proper hold downs.
Does require a long run of very good battery cable for a long distance to tie the two batteries together!
Some installers use welding cable for these long runs!

If you install a very good top of the line premium battery like a NorthStar NSB-AGM, as your primary battery, you should not need a second battery.

Robert
Only steel rims that fit in 15 inch are Soft 8s , 15X7 4 inches of backspacing when lifted.
Also with that size tire you will need 3 inches of lift, not spacer style lift, a full spring lift like OME
So after spending 1000 bucks wheels and lift you'll be able to run those tires although you will lose fuel mileage and power so expect to regear

Very nice!
I especially like your spare tire cover. Does the whole thing swing away or just lock on?

 Never heard it called that before but I love it.
I call it a safari rack.

About 30 years ago I visited family in De Lier and Rotterdam.

Spare tire cover is standard as far as I know. It is just the back plate.

Family in Rotterdam and the Lier. Fun. I do live on the other side of the Netherlands. Near Arnhem.

Well folks, It has been done, the Jeep and the Trailer are ready to go on trail.
So this friday we head out, do a stop in Holland to visit some friends and start in a relaxing
way our vacation.
And then, on the sunday it is of to Morocco.
