I want to pull a Cargo Trailer around with my tools in it. When I learned of the '05/06 Liberty Diesels I liked that they have the power and like the Wrangler Jk there are free resources for making it a little better.
I'll be looking at a few Liberty's up to purchase time the end of this month (Sept '17).
I saw another post about a purchase decision and was amazed at the responses.
Let me know what to look for in a 2005 Limited 4wd with 132k miles priced at 7200 cash. There is a 2006 for 8500 that has a list of mods but I am not able to decipher their value yet.
I'm open to any advice you can provide.
thanks,
JK2Liberty aka Richard

Forum member jws84_02 has a great deal on his liberty and he's done great mods to extend longevity. I bought one jeep at $6k running and in good shape at 123k and ended up putting nearly $2500 into maintenance and longevity mods And now I've bought a second, for $4000 running poorly and I've dumped almost $3k so far and it still doesn't move yet. If I did it over again I would of just bought the lowest mileage crd with timing belt maintenance done and possibly transmission updates. Or possibly one with timing belt done, arp studs, lift pump install, and Gde Ecotune. Unless the egr is known bad I wouldn't do Egr delete with gde tune. If you plan on doing the DIY tuning I'd suggest weeks egr delete kit.

2006 had the ESP feature on. With all this torque going to the rear wheels it's too easy to get the rear end happy. The ESP keeps that happy tail in check under any speed.
