Howdy all,
Just bought a '05 CRD 3 weeks ago for a price I could not say no to. It has 262,000 miles on the clock and is supposedly a 1 local owner whip. Seems like it was serviced regularly if the Carfax is to be believed. And using info from the forum, I have already replaced the timing belt, H2O pump, thermostat, and dropped in the Weeks II mod and elephant nose hose. Next on the list are Bostech remanned injectors, new radiator, and investigating the source of the low speed rumble. I am still rolling with the original radiator, amazingly, and I have already noticed the running hot on the freeway issue. I also dropped in the gm heavy duty fan and clutch. When the new rad gets here I plan on having it installed professionally. I spent the whole week last week doing the timing belt in my garage and in this heat it was no joy although I did enjoy getting in there to sort things out.

I'm hoping that this motor will last a while longer for me as I plan on doing some light to moderate off roading in the cooler season, and I look forward to fuel efficiency benefits of having a diesel. But knowing that this motor can be resleeved vs rebored is also a perceived benefit. Has anyone done a resleeve on theirs?

Stay cool
Tom

I have to admit that I still see a lot of KJs flying around town but I cant remember the last time I spotted a CRD.

EH hose is bad, install a ProVent instead.
Plenty of reading on the subject on this forum if you do a search...

Couldn't do any real searching until I registered. But wow you kids really dissected the subject! I read so much last night that my head almost hurt. Thanks for doing all the hard work and effort, quite the eye opener.
