Hello everyone, I am new a owner of a 2006 jeep Liberty CRD.
I teach diesel tech for medium and heavy duty vehicles at a technical college.

I currently own a 2006 dodge 1 ton with 5.9 diesel and wanted something a little more fuel efficient.

I happened to run across a 2006 Liberty CRD with 145,000 miles that seems to be pretty well taken care of. Also it came with a full 2005 Liberty CRD minus the engine. So I figured why not!!!!!!!! Get better fuel mileage, maybe save some money etc.

But just wanted to say Hello

Three things:

Second,
If you have not done so, you need to read the NOOB guide, it will provide you with a lot of very valuable information on your newly acquired Jeep CRD that you won't find anywhere else.

Third,
Save money? :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL:
This one may come as a shock to you, these are certainly NOT cheap vehicles to own; it takes about 3-4k to get one into a somewhat reliable shape and that is only if you do all the work yourself. There are several parts that are simply no longer available from anyone in this country, it can make you go crazy trying to locate one of them.
If you have to pay someone to do all the labor, you can double or triple that amount.
The two major suppliers of parts for this vehicle and especially for this unique and rare engine used in the US are IDParts.com & SasquatchParts.com, they will become your best friends over time.

But on the bright side, if you have any questions, ask away, there are some very knowledgeable and informed owners on this forum who are more than willing to share their knowledge, answer any question you may have, or try and help you with a problem. :D
