I mounted some Bosch driving lights on the bumper of my '05 CRD. I removed the bumper cover and fabricated a couple L-shaped brackets from some 1/8 thick x 1 1/4 bar stock from Home Depot.
I attached the bracket to the steel bumper frame and notched the bumper cover to reveal it. Here's how it came out:



After mounting and wiring the lights, here's how they look:
