i think my gain tuning is a bit off, it picks up everything, partly being just dang sensitive high gain setup, other probably being a bit of over tuned gain, it doesn't take much

however with the key off, sweet jebus i can hear a cricket fart in California on ssb on a good atmosphere day

gonna try a few more ferous cores on the coax, if that doesn't do it, i'm getting the radio retuned
