Will the stock CD player play MP3's from a disk?

It plays burned CDs for sure but not 100% on the mp3s. I would kinda doubt it.

I am pretty sure it does not. It might play audio cds that have been created from mp3s (the kind that play in any cd player), but not mp3 cds (data cd with folders of mp3 files, a few hundred on a disc). Maybe the nav system does?

My buddy has a Town & Country and the DVD system does play MP3. I'm pretty sure the KJ (up to '05 anyway) doesn't play data MP3 CD's.

Thanks for the tips.
I guess I'll hazard wasting a CD to find out.

I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks again everyone.

Yeah, cds are so cheap now, it's worth a test. You can just call it a backup of your mp3s, and if it works in the jeep, all the better.

I love having the mp3 cd ability (I have an alpine deck). I can keep 5-6 albums on one CD, and I don't have to worry about cd theft anymore, they'll just end up stealing all the burned copies of the CDs I keep safe at home. iPod control is nice, too, though.

Here's a useful comparison between the RB1 and RB4:

It seams that neither of them play MP3s burned to disc.
