This is the OLD HU and it is for sale if anyone is interested in it. It works fine, but I upgraded for obvious reasons.

Trial Fitting without the wire harness attached.

An hour and a half later, all wires tucked away.

Moving on to hook up the hideaway unit and test the HU.

Very nice. I thought about it once...We put a portable between the two front seats for the girls when we go on long trips. I think I'd be in a bit of trouble with the wife if I did this. We only have 5 DVD players in the house...She comments about that, I can see my honey-do list if I ever did this. I'd be a slave forever! :P

No but its close

its the DEH-P7500MP

The only difference between it and the premier would be the higher voltage outputs.

does the DEH-P7500MP have a dual screen as well as the 960 or 9600? Thats the main reason i fell in love with my headunit

Holy cow, I just looked the 960 up and all I can say is wow, that a great HU.

No the 7500 does not have a dual screen. just one on the front. and it does not have the 13 band EQ it is only like a 5 band

My new HU has like a 29 band. lol

JFortier777,

How'd you manage to pull the A/C control tubes off? I sort of half pulled mine off, but when they wouldn't come all of the way off I pushed them back on. Now the A/C control hisses whenever I change modes :(

You just pry the tabs and pull the plug off. I find that it helps to put a flat head screwdriver under it so you can pry the whole plug off while you mess with the tabs.

Mine has always hissed when I changed modes...?? I am pretty sure thats completely normal since the whole system is vacuum controlled.

Of course you dont really have to take that plug off; I just do it to make things easier.

Yeah, I never really had to take it off and decided against it because I was too afraid I'd break it. I guess whenever I work on the Jeep I'm always looking for things that I may have screwed up.... Nice to know that everything is fine though :D Oh, forgot to mention, nice install!
