Post subject: | Dash Pinout for Lightbar |
I just put the Renegade light bar on my Liberty and I would like to use the indicator light on the dash instead of the little orange LED, Does anyone know where I can find the wire to tap into to get the light on the dash to illuminate? I know its a white w/brown striped wire but there are so many of them underneath the dash I dont know where to begin and I dont want to mess something up! Can anyone help me with this??? A pinout diagram would be great but any info would be awesome! Thanks!!! |

Which indicator light do you want to use? Every light on the dashboard has a specific function, to use any of them you'd have to put a diode inline with your lamp cable so you don't backfeed current into the Jeep circuitry. |

The stock Renegdae lightbar switch is attached the the BCM, which sends a signal to the dash cluster module to illuminate the proper light. |

The light switch isnt connected to the BCM because I have the Stock Renegade light switch. The wire that needs to be spliced into is a white wire with a brown stripe and I just cant find it in the mess of wires under the dash. The white wire with brown stripe that comes from the light bar gets spliced into the white wire with brown strip that "connects" to the BCM, so that you dont have to use the orange LED that comes with it. Several people have done this so I know it can be done I just need the pinout or wiring diagram so I can see where the wire is that I need to splice into. Thanks for help. |

On 2005 Libertys the Lightbar Switch Sense wire should be white with a light green stripe and run from pin 8 of the lightbar switch to pin 19 of connecter C1 on the BCM. The BCM is located on the back side of the Junction Block, which is the fuse panel at the driver's knee. Of course, I can't be liable if you fry your BCM.... |
