I was having dinner with a guy moments after he returned from SEMA (which has almost nothing to do with this post), but he was telling me about a devise he developed for the 3.7L that would allow the OverDrive to stay off once you turned it off and not reset when the Jeep was re-started. Has anyone seen this before? Would anyone be interested in it? I was thinking about this after reading that a lot of people turn the OD off to keep it in the "efficient" range of 2,200 rpms. I'm trying to track him down again and ask a little more about the devise. |

I would be somewhat interested. I've found that OD does very little to improve fuel efficiency (except on the freeway), and it really makes the engine work harder than it should sometimes. |

I don't remember and haven't look for the post (probably mileage related), but a lot of people said they turn the OD off around town and up to 45-50 mph thus not over-working or revving the engine. Someone said a Jeep engineer said they were more efficient aroud 2,200 rpm, not to mention they just feel a little peppier at lower speeds with it off. |

Hello, I am very interested in the overdrive device to keep OD turned off even after restarting... Can you give me more information? Please email to: thedeatons@hotmail.com Thanks, James |
