I have a Parrot CK3100 bluetooth system that has been installed in my 2004 KJ with the single cd stereo for about a year. Works great, love it. I just bought an aux line in from logjamelectronics and tried to install it. It works great except... The Parrot gets power from the larger 25 pin connector. The Aux in unit gets power through the 10 pin connector. When I start up the car, both work fine. The parrot powers up and you can switch to the "CD changer" mode to get the line in to work. When I recieve a call, the parrot kicks in, takes over the speakers and everything works great. When the call is over though, instead of returning to my line in, it looses connectivity with the unit and can no longer change to that mode. I think somehow that during the parrot taking the call, power is being cut (or lowered enough) and is turning off the aux unit. Once this happens, the units stops being recognized. If I turn the car off (not the stereo) and reset everything, it works perfectly again. I'm looking for any suggestions on how to solve this. My first thought is to get power for one of them (most likely the parrot) somewhere else. Anyone know where i can find some switched power in the dash other than the stereo? How do I tap into it? If you're feeling adventurous, you could tap into the accessory wire in your ignition harness and give that a shot. It would be that Black/Orange wire in your ignition harness under your steering colum. |

Not too far of a run...good idea. So would i just hook into that for the switched 12v and then maybe do an "add a circuit" thing and go to the fuse box? |

Figured it out in case anyone else has the same problem. It actually wasn't a power issue, it was a "mute" issue. I had hooked up one of the mute lines from the parrot to the stereo, but it wasn't working properly as a mute. Snipped it, and everything worked fine. It must have been somehow cutting out the aux in converter and disabling it with the mute function. All is well and I'm a happy camper! |
