So, I have a tweeter in my dash that's fuzz-ing on certain frequencies, specifically within the normal vocal range on some popular songs and most of a weekly AM radio program I listen to. You can take for granted that I'm faimiliar enough with speaker construction to know that it's a blown tweeter and it'll need to be replaced.

Now, short of having a particular song that has losts of that pitch in it, is there a good way to get this replaced at my local dealer (it's a 2005 model with about 6k on the odometer, currently and I DON"T listen to music loud...)? I know how to explain it to an audio enthusiast and/or electrical hobbyist, but have no idea how to approach this with the average dealer shop. Anyone have any similar experience / thoughts on warranty coverage and such and how to get this accomplished?

Dan

Seems like a Good Dealer wouldn't put up too much of an argument and swap it under warranty no problem.

But if not then, I've got a couple I'd be glad to sell for el cheapo . . . if anyone's interested. I pulled ALL the speakers (Infinity System) out of my 2002 Jeep Liberty when the passenger side woofer started buzzing. The tweeter both still work fine though.

I'd just tell them, "It buzzes badly and must be blown, I'd like it replaced since I don't listen to music loud, and should not have had any issues on such a new vehicle!"

Good Luck!

I would just replace them with something better if you really like your music. Stock=yuk
