Does any one have a pic of their dash with a single din deck and adapter in it? Just wondering what they look like.
Thanks

Sorry no pic here, but they look pretty good. Metra makes a decent dash kit that makes it look good while at the same time holding the head unit secure.

I was also going through cardomain checking these units, since I am considering replacing RBQ.

Anyone else want to post theirs?

wow, looking great
What's that space underneath the HU? is it like a storage? I can't make that out.

Yeah, some of the dash kits put a slot for storage to use up some space when going to a single DIN-sized headunit.

I'll be able to put in my $.02 hopefully soon when my JVC KD-AVX2 arrives. :D

mlr, I am also considering a kenwood HU, this one: KDC-X590
is your X689 or 890? I cannot read on the face (can see your hand, though). Comparison what do you think of it so far? I was thinking of hooking up large USB drive to it.

psinsyd, you are lucky, I was considering that at first, that unit looks great.. (bit pricey)

The space under the HU holds a cd case perfectly. I guess it's the "what's playing" now display

Mine is a X889 which I don't see on their site (I guess its an older model replaced by the X890). I basically use my ipod for all my music but a USB hard drive would work just as well (maybe better and also cheaper). Let us know what you end up going with!

Only for like a day did I run the new HU with OEM speakers. I know once I put in the new speakers it sounded really good. Can't really remember how the OEMs sounded with it sorry. Thanks for the comments too. Oh and I also got rid of the Tweeters altogether (I think they were shot cause they made horrible cracking noises)

Got KDC-X590, I installed it today, only problem I got no FM/AM!
The antenna lead's center jack is very very thin, and requires precise & gentle tug. I didn't know that, so the antenna adapter's pin broke.
Crutchfield will be sending a new one so I will have to take it out once again and connect that by next week. Other than that, everything works perfectly fine, thank God.

Here are the pics:

The cables sticking out from the glovebox are 3,5" audio in via aux + USB port with 256mb i found around.

Looks good! The cabling to the glovebox is the same route I took with the iPod adapter cable.

I'll work on pics, hopefully tomorrow!
