So I'm new to the KJ scene, still working on selling my Chevy but I'm trying to gather all the info I can regarding the mod's I want to do. I've obtained the needed lift and tire/wheel size info, now it's stereo time. I would like to swap over some of my current stuff I'm already running if I can't sell it with the truck. I have an MTX 4 channel amp, a powered bass tube, and my Sirius satellite radio Sportser 4 that I just ordered. I know with my Chevy the radio was connected to the onstar so when I replaced it with an aftermarket I lost onstar capabilities as I didn't need it, but also because I didn't buy the adapter. What types of issues am I looking at with the KJ? I have the KJ sport, 2005, wheel cruise control components. I would like to put in 4 new door speakers(6.5's or whatever they are) and power them off of my amp. I'm not a bass gluten, so the bass tube does the trick for me and it's got a built in amp with a 10" speaker. Is it possible to run the sub, and power 4 new speakers with the amp off the stock head unit? Should I look at replacing the stock HU? If I do, what issues are tied in with it? Thanks a bunch guys, loving the maneuverability and agility of the KJ compared to my Silverado, and I didn't sacrifice much as it still gets me to where I want to go. |

As long as your amps have speaker level inputs you can run them off of the headunit. If they don't you could purchase a speaker level to line level converter to place between the head unit and amps. |

I found a headunit that's really nice, better than what's in my truck with built in sirius satelite which is the only way to go for me now (been pulling my hair out listening to regular radio talk show morons) and it's only $150. This will allow for me to run the sub input right to the HU, as well as run the amp speaker wire from the amp. My question is, is the stock headunit tied to anything other than the sound sytem? I don't want to loose other controls like I did with my truck and the onstar. I don't have onstar in the jeep.

Depending on the radio and options your Jeep has, the radio could be tied into: steering wheels audio controls (if you have this universal option), UConnect (if you have the RB4), GPS (if you have the RB1 or RB4), and Sirius (if you have this universal option). |

I have none of that so am I good to go for revampage?
