Hey guys,

So I'm intalling the following:
Headunit: CLARION DXZ665MP CD/MP3/Sirius
Rear Speakers: JBL GTO627 6-1/2" 180 WATTS 2WAY
Front Speakers: JBL GTO607C 6-1/2" 2-WAY COMPONENT SPEAKERS
Amp: MTX 4 channel 404
Subwoofer: Bazooka 10" amplified bass tube
Sirius: SIRCL1 receiver box

I was wondering if anyone has and diagrams for removing door pannels, step protectors, and the headunit? Also, where's the best place to punch through for the power source, and where are ya'll running your wires?

Thanks much, I'll take pictures as I go to show how its all done if I can get some info on this stuff to help others out in the future.

I've got an 03 freedom edition so bear with me if the info is a hair off.

Door panels :: There are two screws that have to be removed, both behind a little snap clip thing, one is in the fixed door handle (the one you would use to close the door) and one is in the actual door handle (to open the door) Bemove those, and then its just a matter of the pop clips that hold the panel on, which i'm sure you can figure out.

To remove the radio, there is a screw in the dash down near the bottom next to where the cigarette lighter plug is, take that out and then use a plastic pry tool to unsnap the surround peiece (the piece that surrounds the A/C contols and such is all one piece) from there just unclip the A/C controls and unbolt the radio.

The step protects just snap in and out of place with pop clips, no hastle there, be carful with the pieces down near the foot wells (where your trunk pop lever is and the same on the other side) they are somewhat fragile and the clips have a tendency to break there.

Going through the firewall is fairly easy, i dont know if it is a auto or manual, if auto, just get a Uni-bit and drill through the clutch plate, if not, find another suitable place to drill a hole through the firewall.

Under the step protectors there is PLENTY of room to run all the wiring you could need so feel free to shove all you can, just be careful not to obstruct the pop-clip holes so when you put the panels back on you dont pinch a wire (not fun)

There is also one wiring trough on each side of the vehicle under the carpet in the middle of the floor. Each has at least enough room to run two 6AWG cables.

I've found this site to be totally helpful for diagrams and tips for installs.
