Does anyone know how to change the wiring so the heated seats don't need weight on them to work? I'd love to turn them on when I start and have them warm after I scrape the windows.

My Charger had heated seats, and I think they turned on without me in the seat, but without your butt in the seat, the heating element can't transfer the heat very well because there is no solid contact. When you sit down you compress all the materials together and the heat can transfer.

But it's just a guess.

I know that I am pretty late to this thread, but my heated seats do not need any weight on them to activate. I'd imagine that the newer liberties have the seat heater tied into the OCS system somehow.

Have to check on my '05 ... I can just toggle the switch on the side of the seat and it lights up, so I assume it's "on".
