Is this the plug you are looking for? It’s a standard Motorola antenna mount. Used in most if not all car stereos. You should have the male (pictured) coming off the stock antenna.

| Post subject: | FM Antenna Wiring |
Hopefully this wasn't posted somewhere else and I missed it, but I'm having issues with my FM. I tried using the MatchMarker from Firestik and running the FM and CB off of the CB antenna. The FM was pretty good, but people told me that it made my CB make a high pitch noise, so I pulled it out and am going back to my stock antenna for my FM. My reception sucked. I put a new Sony headunit in it, and ran new wiring down to the antenna connection under the passenger dash down on the side at their feet. The reception still sucks. Can someone let me know if the connector on the wire coming from the antenna down in the lower right passenger side is a male or female connector? If anyone else has any ideas of what the issue could be, let me know. Scot |

Did you do the antenna mod that three of us? You had to have the right splitter and we used a wilson silver antenna. No hiss/buzzing noise. Great FM reception. |

Not sure what mod you are talking about. My Firestik II 4' is out back on the doorjam mount like I have seen some others have on here. I actually meant to post pics, but never had a cnace to do it. Once I took the MatchMaker off, it works great and I have awesome range. At this point, I'm fine with using the stock antenna. The new Sony should give me a decent signal, once I can get things figured out with the antenna wires. Anyone know which connector if on the cable that comes out from the antenna? That is the first place I am looking to trouble shoot. |

Where and how did you run power to the CB? More specifically where did you draw power from for the CB radio? You maybe are getting interference from the power source thus providing the interference. |

Not sure off hand where the power and ground is run to on the CB. Some friends did that part of the install while I was doing the mount in the back. W3CSX-That is the plug I am thinking about, and is exactly what I needed to know. Now I need to run out to the KJ and see how I have it all set up. Maybe I'll have a radio to drive down to Philly to see my friend who just gave birth to her first child and for my new job with Penske! Thanks guys! |

i had a similar problem when i was installing my new head unit. i was picking up maybe 2 stations at best and they were fading in and out alot. I pulled the it back out and inspected the anntena adapter. turns out the adapter to make my alpine unit plug right into the stock anntena, on the end that the anntenna plugs into has a small pin, which was bent and prevented it from connecting all the way and led to crappy reception, I ordered a new one off ebay for like 7 bucks and that did the trick, those pins are easy to bend, might want to check that. |
