| Post subject: | Dead battery? |
My battery in my 05 Jeep Liberty diesel goes dead in two days if the car sets. We have put three new batteries in the Jeep. Anyone have any ideas as to what to look for that might be draining the battery? Anyone else had this problem? This has started since the last flash was done. Thanks |

You must have a short somewhere. |

Have you done any electrical mods or added any accessories? Also, what type of flash? |

I'd have to lean towards a short as well ... |

There was a recall on some of the CRD's...apparently some problem with the BCM programming was causing a drain on the battery. I think it was for 06 models though. You can go here to check though http://www.jeep.com/owners/index.html Just enter your vin at the bottom left side of the screen. |

Shoot if it's still under warranty just take it back to the dealer! I think the Jeep specification for a "stored period of time" is 15 or 20 days without causing a dead battery. You could have a short, a faulty switch somewhere, a bad diode, a piss poor alternator.... The best thing to do is use a multimeter and probe all of the fuses with the engine off to find the circuit causing the drain |

Thanks for all of the suggestions. The flash was the last one for the transmission. I will check on the shorts. |

Three batteries and three different Jeep dealerships and they have found the problem. An internal short in the fuse box. Been that way since new. Finally a sharp tech was able to find it at the third dealership. Now just waiting on parts. |
