This may be a dumb question, but I don't know much about car stereos...

I have the premium sound system with steering wheel-mounted controls and a 6-CD changer installed in the back. My OEM head unit is whacked (doesn't recognize the internal CD player at all and occassionally forgets that I have a CD changer).

Is it possible to find an aftermarket head unit that is compatible with the steering wheel-mounted controls and my OEM CD changer? Or are there adapters readily available?

I guess I could just get a replacement head unit from my dealer or something, but I have to believe that I could get better bang-for-the-buck in an aftermarket unit.

Oh, great---I've searched for this before and never found it...then, right after posting this, I did another search and found at least 1/2 of my answser:

The ability to use my steering wheel-mounted controls is more important than the CD changer. In all likelihood, I'd get a head unit with an internal changer, anyway.

But if anyone knows whether I can use my OEM changer, I'd appreciate some info.
