Well I don't want to buy the trailer wires for my Jeep when I have a plug in and know how to wire. I was wondering if somebody could tell me if it's possible to splice into the brake lights and if so which wires and where, Thanks

Get a Hoppy Hitch Wiring Kit. You just unplug your wiring harness and insert this pigtale in the middle - no splice. Yeah, it might be $30-40, but you don't have to do anything but plug it in. That canbe good if you aren't good at wiring.

I wish I would have known about the pigtail, it would be worth the extra $. If you do splice it in, make sure to get a circuit test light. This makes it easy to find the correct wires.

I bought the generic harness a couple weeks after getting my Libby and spliced in the wires. The $10 pigtail also came with a little tester light to determine which wires lead to which lights. For the life of me I couldn't get my trailer lights to work properly. (I think I needed a diode or two somewhere.)

Just a month ago I bought the Hoppy adapter for $40. Holy crap, was it easy to install!! Now I don't have to worry about getting pulled over for having only one functioning brake light.
