A few months ago I saw a CB antenna mount on a snow-bird's KJ that I liked but couldn't connect with him to ask about it. The antenna was mounted to a strip of metal that came out between the left front fender and the left edge of the hood about six inches from the trailing edge of the hood.

Has anyone used a mount like this or have any info on where I can find one?

Someone on here posted some install info. on an antenna mount like that. Take a look in the Fabrication Section. I wouldn't bother using the search on here, it sucks!

Terry

AFTER THOUGHT: If you do any off road driving it is better to have the antenna in the back or on the roof.

There's a nice write up on it on KJcountry. It's for a Dakota, but looks like it works well on the KJ. Walcott CB has it on their web site.

That's what I was looking for.

http://www.jeepkj.com/forums/viewtopic. ... ht=antenna

Thanks.

The KJ I saw had it mounted further back toward the windshield.

i had mine mounted about 2 - 3 inches forward the windshield, but on the same part of the fender.

be carefull when doing this. i would recommend getting a light weight antenna, like the thin whip antennas. the one i had sprung the top of the fender a little bit, and i had to adjust it in. it also left rust spots in the mounting screw holes even though i primered them as well as put silicone on the screws themselves.
