A buddy of mine mentioned he is getting a cb for his tj in the next week or 2 at a truck stop by his place (they are on sale) so I convinced him to grab me one and a magnetic roof antenna :D I can't wait, I've never been on a CB, or anything like that so this is a whole new experience to me. I know my local Jeep club (NSJC) has some threads about what channels to use and such for my neck of the woods, and I also know a trucker that would likely help me get familiar with it, but I'm curious if there is anything I should know before hand. Is there any slang terms I should use? Basically any radio terms I know have come from the song Convoy. And yes pig pen this here is the rubber ducky, I'm about to put the hammer down :) So what should I know, any advice? Any tricks/jokes/games? Things I shouldn't do?

 i had forgot about that song

anyway, slang tends to change from region to region channel to channel, its good to let whoever youre talkin to know when youre done talkin via a roger beep, or some other verbalized 'over', 'come awn' etc

dont worry about the slang, give it a half sec after you key the mic and talk as if its just a phone then release the key

It's a heck of a lot better than holding a phone to your face! some of the higher end radios have bluetooth that channel your phone through your CB too.

I can't wait to get my CB with the SSB's in, it just got back from a peakey and a tuney :D
