I have a 2002 KJ Limited. I was driving home from work and noticed the left turn signal indicator lit every time I used my brakes.
I thought I had a blown bulb. I had my wife push the brakes while I stood at the rear to see if the brake light was out. I had brake lights on the driver side both top and bottom sockets lit (Red and Amber). Passenger side only top socket (Red). Driver side turn signal works and Passenger side turn signal works both flash when emergency flasher is turned on but the passenger side Amber does not light when the brake is applied. So Left turn signal indicator lit when I apply brake and all lights work when brake is applied except passenger Amber. I have a trailer wiring harness that ties into both tail lights it has been installed for about two years with no issues. I am beyond frustrated trying to figure this out any help is greatly appreciated.

The Trailer Wiring harness has a bad component inside somewhere. When I unplug the trail harness from the taillights the brake lights function properly. If anyone else has had this issue and fiqured out a fix can you post and let me know how the problem was corrected. Thanks KJ LOST is great.

Glad you figured it out.

What brand of wiring harness did you get? Was it the type that plugs right into the wiring on the tail lights?

Personally I do not like that kind at all. It takes power from the tail lights for power on the trailer lights. The Jeeps wiring may not be designed to light up all the lights on a trailer.

I got a wiring harness from Etrailer that plugged into the stock wiring harness for the trailer wiring. The harness has a wire that runs all the way to the battery(that I had to run) to get power for the lights on the trailer. Works out pretty good and doesnt use the same wiring as the stock brakes on the Jeep.
