I've been wanting to get an alarm installed for a while and especially more now since I just added some more car audio goodies. I've been looking at the whole Directed Electronics line and CompuSTAR. I'm looking for the best option that will take over for the normal keyless entry, back gate release and maybe even roll down my windows when i press another button. Any comparisons would be awesome!

i've had good luck with audiovox / prestige remote starters & alarms. i've installed 6 or 7 of them without any trouble (stay away from the remanufactured ones). the aps-997 is on my list of goodies.

I want one of these too... but I have a 2005 with the sentry key, so how does the remote start work, considering I have to have the key in the ignition because of the sentry chip.

Thanks!

DEI is going through a tough patch right now. I recommend staying away until further notice.

The vehicles with the sentry key immobilizer will need an interface module installed. Most alarms/remote starters will have one available. Thats just good question to ask a dealer before you decide on a system.
