did the CD go in all the way? I was stuck in a crowd (people) in the Jeep. I put in my CD (AC/DC of course) and nothing happened. So I got flustered. CD wont work/CD wont come out/just bought my Jeep. Try using another CD to push it all the way in (be careful) then it should eject.

Nah - it's in all the way - I had been playing it the night before...I know the problem is that it has a decal label and when the unit gets warm the label curls off and then yer SOL...

I read the manual this morning and it clearly states NOT to put CD's with stickers in the player -- my bad -- I'm gonna call the dealership today and see if they have any home remedies...otherwise I'll have to bring it down with my tail between my legs and get my wallet out...I deserve it....I knew better :(

Well...brought it over to Lakes Jeep...Butch couldn't have been nicer...he was able to get the CD's out of it, but part of the label had come off and wrapped itself around some of the internal mechanisisms and stripped some of the gears...it'd cost more to repair than it's worth....

Expensive lesson learned

if you are looking for a single-CD, they are generally VERY cheap on places like eBay, since they are the lowest factory option. You can also try a junkyard.

Other than that, I'd say it's a perfect time to go aftermarket, you get much more bang for the buck (did you know that 6-cd player is a $600 option?) For less than half that cost I got an alpine deck that plays mp3s off the disc AND the iPod changer attachment. PM me if you want $20 off at crutchfield, they include all the installation kits, wiring kits, instructions, and usually free/cheap shipping.

Buy aftermarket! My 6 CD changer crapped out w/in a year. Disc Error message. Had to take it in and wait for a refurb under warranty. Took almost 3 mos to get GM to send me back my cds. Evidently these things are notorious. Next time it goes (and it will) I'll go w/Crutchfield.
